I don't know if I've done it yet,
but my persistent nagging to my husband just may have paid off!
Yep, that's right.
I may have talked him into drywalling our living room and re-decorating!
So, since we have that huge garage sale coming up in September,
I am putting the pressure on!
All the items I marked hopefully will be for sale!
If you spy something you like,
you can email me at
wish me luck!

O.M.G. I would love to attend your garage sale! But unfortunately I dont think I live near you. I would be interested in alot of the stuff that you mentioned for our lake home. ~Cindy~

Finally he gave in! I can't wait to see what you are going to do. Maybe paint the deer head pink. Wouldn't that just drive him nuts. I remember when I finally could get rid of this tapestry that my husband loved. The longer your married, they finally give in.
See you soon,
Cindy
Before you get rid of that armoire-- which I soooo want but don't live anywhere near you-- you should check out this post especially since you mentioned that aqua color yesterday

It is soooo pretty and if I can find an armoire like it, I'm all over it!
I can't wait to see what you do with the room after you finish. I'm sure it's going to be awesome.
Lucky YOU! :)
wow,, wished i was near you,, the armoir, sofa table, lamps,, i want it all. Good luck with your sale
My son's room has a cabin theme. Your antler lamp would be perfect! Let me know if you'd be willing to ship it...

That is fun stuff, I'm a cowgirl at heart and wish I had a ranch...although I'd struggle with my inner shabby chic cottage antique heart versus the ranch look! ;) Do you remember Rachel Ashwell's book "The Shabby Chic Home" where she bought her Malibu cottage? It was all wood inside, very dark beams, etc., and she painted it all white. I think that might keep the cottage character of your place, (although probably more work than sheet rock- and lots and lots of white paint! :)
My Dad had pine paneled walls and he painted them. They look fabulous! Maybe you should try a coat of paint before you drywall. Looking forward to seeing your living room updates!! Love your blog!! I check it daily!!
I am sure you have already thought about this, but could you paint the walls (like you mentioned) and the furniture and get the sofa slipcovered?
I also love the color cottage white, by behr from home depot. my favorite white.
