Love your blog! Take a looka t mine when you get a chance and give me some pointers!
i too get a cozy feeling driving by homes at night when the lights are on. in fact, my parents used to leave their front window opened at night so passers-by could look inside and (hopefully) be inspired!
Beautiful pictures! I too love to see homes lit at night. Have fun in California!
...sort of inviting...enjoy California....
First I think oooh pretty - what's happening in there, is there a party? Then I think... wow their electric bill is going to be SO high! Lovely pictures.
I thought I was crazy!!! I love when people leave their curtains open at night so I can see in!!! Especially homes that I love! Glad I'm not the only one! :)
I too love it when I can peak into houses, although I feel a little bit like I'm invading privacy. I always smile when I see a family all together at the dining room table.
WOW! I love those homes, they do look so cozy! Hope your stay here in California is a sweet one!
Hope you all have a great time in Cali! We'll be waving at you while you are at Disneyland while we drive North on I-5 back to Seattle!
This is so funny that I read this tonight. On the way home I actually drove by some beautiful homes in a neighborhood that I love. I too love driving by at night. And I do wonder what their decor is like. Good things for home show and awesome blogs!
What a treat to be able to spend your daughters birthday in California and also be able to meet two of your favorite blogger friends. Give Tara a hug for me will you. Have a wonderful and safe trip. Take care,
Pat
PS. I love to see windows lit in peoples homes at night too. Even better when you can get a peak at what is inside, snicker, snicker!!!!!!!
I agree. I love taking walks around the neighborhood when the lights are just starting to come on in the houses. Love these photos! :-)
Oh, I agree too......warm lighting draws you in, and I love to see the decor in others' homes!!!
Suzanne
Enjoy your trip!
It is such a great time to look in peoples windows and check out their decor because they usually have the lights on but have not yet closed the curtains. :) Maybe I am the one who is crazy :)
Beautiful houses. I love taking walks at night so I can peek into people's houses. Yes I am nosey!!
Have a great time in CA
I am the same way! There is just something so nice and cozy about it; it is my favorite time of day!
That is why I'm such a sucker for any Thomas Kincaid's artwork! I just love the glow
My girlfriend and I used to take our walks at night after it got dark so we could see into the homes ~ stalker crazy ~ nope ~ just nosy!
Have a wonderful trip!

You're not the only one! It's fun to try to peak into people's windows at night to check out their homes. Everyone should just leave their lights on and their curtains open so I can see inside! :)
No, you're not crazy.
I love that time of night, just after the sun sets. Sometimes you can get a glimpse into the house if people haven't closed their curtains yet. Not to be nosey or anything.
They are beautiful. Wish I was inside one of those beauties!
I love to see a house all lit up at night. It is very cozy and inviting and you do wonder what life is like inside the house. We have a big front porch with a chandelier and pot lights and always have them on at night as well as all of our lamps in the rooms that face the street. It makes our house look friendly. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures.
Please visit my blog, where I mentioned you in a post on burlap...Chamara
I always love taking evening strolls and seeing glows of people's cozy lives eminating out. When I was a kid, I used to wonder why I couldn't just walk up and ask if I could come in and visit for awhile. I suppose as an adult, that'd be far more awkward.
Beautiful!!
Oh I do too!!! I especially love it when I can peek inside a well-dressed home @ night on my walks.
I like to do runs at night sometimes so I can see people's decorating through the illuminated windows. Sick, I know! I'm an interior design peeping tom of sorts, I guess. :)

Joni of Cote de Texas gave me the best house stalking tip - drive around in the early evening, when people are coming home and turning on their lamps, and you can get the best view of the insides of the homes. Luckily, Joni and I simply enjoy the beauty of a house illuminated from the inside, we don't have any bad intentions!
I love the look of a softly pleated silk shade in a window. So beautiful, it speaks of home to me.
Illuminated windows in the evening take me to a happy place too!
