First off I wanted to thank all of you for your comments in regards
to Edie and her home.
I don't know any details at the moment on how we all can help,
but as soon as I hear anything, I'll let you know!
Yesterday my husband and I installed shelving units in our storage shed.
I came across these wood planks that came with the shelving,
but that we were not going to use.
My husband had thrown them in the trash pile.
Of course I rescued them and immediately knew what I was going to make!
I think I am the last one on the face of the planet to make a subway sign but it was a lot of fun! I have 3 more boards so I think I will make more for my etsy shop!
I am also thinking about doing other sayings,
like the lyrics to "you are my sunshine" etc.

Love it! It turned out soo cute! I realized I salvage too much stuff this weekend when my hubby took down a broken ooold fan and handed it off to me and asked what I'd craft out of it...haha! Your subway sign turned out so cute---I would def. Put some on etsy!! Love your blog!!!!
Great job on the sign, Melaine! Love those subway signs! I have one with the "fruits of the spirit" listed on it - and just love it! :)

Very cute. Definitely make more.
Good rescue. Great minds think alike - I too was busy making subway art yesterday! Love your simple approach. Here's mine: http://thatsmyletter.blogspot.com/2010/12/p-is-for-paper-bags.html
Very cool!
I love how your sign turned out. Very well done :) I was browsing Romantic Homes magazine and they're showing subway pillows. They look pretty cute.
Is there anyone that has/or is going to start some type of campaign for Edie??? Would love to help replace things or give money to a fund towards her rebuilding process. That's what this season is all about....and Lord knows she's given so much to all of her readers! Let us know and let's spread the word
Saw some in the movie "How Do You Know", but didn't know what they were! (wait for the rental by the way!)
They look great! How did you do the spacing of the letters that part always drives me crazy when I make signs, LOL! ;-) Hope you had a happy holiday!!

can you see my two thumbs up??? yay!
Love the sign...Did you use sticker letters?? Thanks for posting wonderful ideas!
love it! i too am wondering what kind of letters you used??? "you are my sunshine" would be so wonderfully perfect for a little wee ones room, and i used to sing it to my son constantly, but he's 3 now and i think i'd do something a little different word wise for his room now but man oh man did you do a fantastic job!
AND, saw the blue and gray post above... his big boy room is coming together (will post of course when it's complete) and is all blues and grays! thanks for the additional inspiration!
Nah you aren't the last one..I am....need to get on that!
very cool sign. i'm actually from the heights and for many years took the subway to 200 st (the stop before 207). great idea!
