~dining room chairs SOLD~

THANK YOU!!!
Because I am not about to try and ship these, they are obviously for pickup only. We are about 30 miles north of Seattle.
If you live in my area and may be in the market for new chairs, or know someone that is, feel free to give me a quick email....
lakeliving4@msn.com

They are really sturdy and have a great shape!

2 of them were a pale yellow that I painted cream to match the other 2, so if you are picky about them matching precisely, these are not for you!

They do come really close though and unless you are examining them side by side, you'd never know!
$225.00 for all 4,
~cash or paypal~
xoxo

I will mark them sold on my blog if they have already been spoken for, so if you don't see the sold sign they are still up for grabs!

~a bulletin board project~

This has been quite the week for projects around here!
I have always wanted a giant bulletin board, and when I saw this frame at a local thrift shop, I knew it would be perfect!
It was marked $24.99, but I had a $3.00 off coupon.
So home it came with me!
I picked up a roll of cork at a craft store for $9.99 and used some spray adhesive I already had to marry the two together. The whole project took less than 5 minutes and
I am so
happy with the results!
I can't wait to hang it!

The best part was that I didn't have to paint it or do anything to it.
It has a gorgeous patina with chippy cream paint and a hint of gold!

It's huge, the inside measurements are 24" x 30"

My plan for next week is to fix up my craft room downstairs.
I still have to "share" it with the exercise equipment, but I think it will still turn out OK!
Stay tuned!

~ a chair makeover {under}~

I am sure you have seen this picture somewhere along the way in blogland.
When I saw it I thought, wow that is a great chair!
I must have one.
But wait, I am a cheapskate.
So I went on the lookout at my local thrift stores..... and came up with this!
It wasn't bad to start with, but shiny purple damask just
isn't my cup of tea.
She was $14.99 and I had a $3.00 off coupon!
She went straight into my shopping cart and then sat in my basement until yesterday!
I hauled her out along with many tools,
{I had to remove 5 gazillion upholstery tacks}
and some cream velvet fabric I had laying around.

I went out this morning to a fabric store and bought some trim for under $5, hot glued it on, and
voila!

What do you think?

~Total cost of this project was around $19.00 from start to finish~
I think I saved a ton!
It's not perfect, but neither am I, so we will do good together.
Happy almost Friday friends!
xoxo
p.s. I forgot to mention I also spray painted the frame cream......

~going shopping in the comfort of your own home~

Remember the Pruvost plaque I made for my living room wall?
Well, after hanging it up we decided that it just wasn't quite right for that space.
Not wanting to spend any money on anything else, I went "shopping" around my home.
On my shopping trip I found some more pillows for my couch.
You can never have too many pillows in my opinion!
Anyway, here is what I came up with for the wall above the 3 photos.
What do you think?
La Junk, describes pretty much everything in my house!
Ha-Ha!
I got this at a flea market years ago.
The letters are chippy rusty metal, and are mounted to a old chippy piece of worn wood.
Just my style!

Here is the view when you walk through the french doors.....

The Pruvost sign I made is on it's way to a new home today.

Oh, and I got a lot of emails on what the color was I used on the blue frame from yesterday's post.
It's called Aged Mint by Ralph Lauren,
{satin finish}
and remember Ralph Lauren paint is half off, I got a gallon for $15!

~etsy update~

Everyone seemed to love that pop of color
the owner of the rooms below added to her home. This frame will add that great cheerful color and will add great character to your own home!

Makes me wish my peonies were blooming already!

~dreamy whites~

~My good friend sent me over this blog to look at~
{thanks Donna!}
Don't these pictures look like they are out of a magazine?
Well, they are not.
They are of this woman's
{my new best friend, she just doesn't know it yet}
home she shares with her cowboy husband and 5 kids!

Wouldn't you agree that it needs to be in Country Living magazine?

Head on over to her blog to see more
photos of her incredible talent!
Happy Tuesday friends!

~etsy update~

I had a lot of requests for red and white stocking holders,
so along with my green and white ones,
I now have these available for purchase in my etsy shop!~link is as the top of this page~

~color palette~

I am so drawn to these muted tones.
I haven't always been.
Believe it or not I used to have my home filled with color!
But after living with it for a while I decided it was just not for me. After many years and lots of trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that these earthy muted tones are what I love and can happily live with everyday.

Some might say it looks stark.

To me it is comfortable and soothing.

Some might even say it's boring.

But with enough texture thrown in the mix, it's actually quite the opposite.

I feel calm and serene surrounded by these colors.

And calm and serene is exactly what I need!

~I'm not making the bed today~

Nope, I am not.
I am not even getting out of my jammies.
I am declaring this "Etsy day!"
You see I have a problem.
A shopping problem and it has caused us to not be able to walk downstairs because it is so cluttered!
I REALLY want to re-do that room and turn it into more of a craft room,
but until I unload it, that can't happen!
Head on over to my etsy shop and see what's new!

~casual chic~

That best describes my style. What about you?
It's a little elegant and a little country.
A little unexpected....

Some old, some new.

A place where you can kick your feet up.

Nothing too stuffy.

At the moment my style is more like casual messy,
so I'd better get off the computer and get to work!
