~a sale you won't want to miss~

My friend Dawn of Great Findz is the queen of flea markets.
Seriously, she always has the best of the best and her displays are always so intriguing.
Dawn likes to mix Frenchy items with industrial items for a one of a kind look.
I adore everything she does.
Here is why I am so excited!
She emailed me this morning about a sale coming up.
If you live nearby, you must go!
She has also just started a blog you can find here.
We will be doing the Haley's Cottage Flea Market sale
together on September 11Th in downtown Kirkland,
so mark your calendars for that one too! And guess where I am off to tomorrow?
I am so excited I can hardly stand it!
Getting up at the crack of dawn and driving down
for what is going to be a fabulous day filled with
friends and I'm certain lots of laughter!
I will be sure to take my camera and take lots of photos!

~something new to do with back to school supplies~

Do you remember back in May when I decided it
was time to organize my mess of recipes?
Well, I am finally getting around to finishing that project up! Recently we were at the office supply store buying back to school supplies....
{glory, glory, hallelujah!}
when it dawned on me that I could use some of those products to finish my little project.

So I picked up a new 3 ring binder and some 4x6 page protector sheets,
and some dividers. When I got home I got serious about only saving the recipes I use on a regular basis.
Turns out I eat a whole lot of cookies,
because 95% of the book is cookie recipes!
I then went here and typed up all my recipes.
If the recipes were from a magazine tear out, I just googled the recipe and then copied and pasted it onto the card on the website above.
This will save you a whole lot of unnecessary typing!
Then I right clicked on the recipe I had just created
and copied it into a word document where I adjusted the size to 4x6,
the size of the page protectors.
I printed them out on card stock, cut them on my paper cutter and put them in the binder.
I used the dividers to separate the drinks from the cookies and main courses, etc.

I will leave you with one of my favorite recipes from my mom!
I LOVE this bread!
{probably because it has a lot of sugar in it!}
xoxo
oops, just saw the typo in the recipe, that's 1 1/2 c. flour, not 12 cups, sorry you carbaholics!

~dining arm chairs for sale~

Here is a little project I have been working on......
I have re-done these solid wood vintage caned
back chairs and I am loving how they turned out! Do you like them?

There are 4 total.

Do you live near Seattle WA?

They can be yours!

Email me if you are interested.

They have great curves and that perfectly chippy creamy paint!

Each one measures approx. 45" tall by 20" deep by 23" wide.
These would look excellent around a black table!

I have stenciled each seat and scotch guarded them for durability.
~$250 for the set of 4~

~new pillows and another giveaway~

I can't tell you how excited I am about these pillows!
I have made them with a super heavy duty canvas like material,
very durable, very chic, great natural color.
I have then added the images with fabric paint, machine washable and all. I am liking this technique much better than the iron ons I have done in the past.
These truly look like authentic vintage grain sacks!

I have made several for my etsy shop, so head on over there

{link at the top of this page}
and scoop them up while you can!
I know you'll love these!

I have also made some of these pillows with the burlap and red.

They all look great together.

~a canoe bar~

Last night was another fun night here at crystal lake.
About 14 families all canoed over to a little area
here called little lake for a little drinking and socializing.
You have to paddle through this marshy area to get there,
but it was set up all cute with these fabric banners blowing in the wind.

Once we got there we were served our drink of choice,
and were all given cheese, cracker, and salami plates.
There was wine, vodka tonics, and beer, and even chocolate milk for the kids.

My friend Trina
{shown with me here}
was the one who put the gathering on.

She had music playing and tiki torches lit.
It truly was a fun evening filled with friends and neighbors.

2 hot air balloons even came to visit us.

We all tied our boats up to one another
and talked for hours into the dark.

Chocolate dipped strawberries anyone?

Someone bet Savannah 4 bucks that she wouldn't go swimming.
My daughter is now $4 richer.

That's my sweet husband who rowed us all
out there because I was too afraid if I moved an inch the boat will tip over!

~Cheers to Crystal lake~

~new pillows~

I have been busy today sewing away!
Shortly I will be listing a few new pillows in my etsy shop.
{click on the etsy link at the top of this page to take you there!} I had fun working with some new {old} materials.

I love the natural color of this Carlton sugar pillow.

The bleached out washed look of this flour

sack pillow is perfect for any beach cottage.

I am selling these without the inserts this
time as it saves you a ton on shipping.

I would recommend filling them with feather/down
inserts for that extra squishy look!

I love this toile one with ruffles! I am tempted to keep it........

It is a reproduction, made to look old.
