~wanna play?~

When my kids were small I made some fun over sized scrabble tiles for their playroom wall after seeing this photo below from Posh Tots. I don't believe they carry them anymore though.
I decided to make a few more for Ruffles and Rust Square.
I brought in around 80 of them yesterday.
There is so many uses for these.
You can hang them on a wall, rest them on a shelf, or give them away as a unique gift.
The numbers are true to the "real" game and each one is sanded, sealed, and ready to be put to use!
They measure approx. 5"x5" and are $4 each.
I had fun coming up with different phrases.
It would be neat to do your kids' names to hang over their beds, or simply
"boy"
or
"girl"
You could do your last name with the word "family"
The possibilities are endless!
Have fun!

~this and that~

Totally random pictures from my trip to visit Maria.
Here we are outside the Tyler Florence store in California.
Loved that store.

Maria's cabinet, loved it to pieces.
 I couldn't quite fit in my suitcase~darn!
A cute little French bistro where we drank lots of coffee...
and indulged in sweets.
This is what happens when you try to take my picture.
And darn it, I don't know why my blog is asking for a password.
It asks me for one too.
I just close out of it.
I'll try to figure it out~
in my spare time.
Also, how long has FLO been coming on with her insurance commercial during my music?
ANNOYING!
I was cleaning the house today listening to my blog music and kept getting interrupted by her.
Ugh, it's always something.
~love you all~

~my 4 dining chairs are for sale~

Before I put these on craigslist, I thought I'd offer them to someone, local of course, that is in need of some new dining room chairs.
We are about 30 miles north of Seattle and these chairs have been quite popular over my blog!
They are cream in color, chunky, have great legs, and are very sturdy and comfortable.
Please email me if you are interested or have any questions.
lakeliving4@msn.com

Asking $450.00 for all 4.
over 1/2 off then when I bought them new.

~our weekend in photos~

One thing I love about camping, or just getting away from familiar surroundings,
is all the neat stuff you see along the way.
My poor husband, I made him pull over so many times so I could take pictures.
It was a great weekend, full of sun, friends, good food, and many laughs!

~I discovered a new blog~

 Well, hello friends!
I was blog surfing and came across this wonderful blog.
It's new to me, maybe not to you, but I'd thought I'd share it with you if you haven't heard of it.
It's called buckets of burlap and check out their newly re-vamped master bedroom.
Don't you just love that recycled headboard?
Another thing that caught my eye was this driftwood garland.
I thought about making one but then found one here, so I might just order that one out of pure laziness.
I will be gone camping with family and friends until Sunday but will be back on Monday!
Have a great weekend!
~happy summer~

~a 5 minute makeover and a silhouette offer~

I gave my hallway gallery wall a little update yesterday.
I took down the row of 4 black Ikea Ribba frames and added a mish mash of frames that I made out of old recycled chippy wood.
There is no rhyme or reason to it, but I think it lightens things up for summer.
I also took all the heavy winter coats off the hooks and replaced them with more season appropriate gear like a beach bag and hat.
{beach bag can be purchased here}
It took about 5 minutes and made a huge difference.
The hallway now seems wider and lighter.
Also now thru June 29th, with promo code
SAVANNAH
you will be able to get
1 silhouette sd
2 packages temp. tattoo paper
for $199.00
{U.S. only}
That's a savings of $120.00!
~also~
25% off all other products in the silhouette shop!
{excluding gift cards and download cards}
The tattoo paper is brand new and so cool!
Great for kids birthdays, holidays, school functions, you name it!
Click here to take you to their shop!

~I survived~

This is not my typical Saturday.
However my evil friend Hillary
{on the left}
always seems to talk me into these things.
I'm actually glad I did this survivor obstacle course, it was a lot of fun, and like I said, something I wouldn't normally do.
If you are not frightened off by my no makeup face, covered in mud self, read on....
I survived the cargo wall of wrath....
the muddy log jammer where you had to go over and under each log....
 the mayhem of mud.....
this one was the worst because there was enormous holes you couldn't see and you would lose footing and go up to your face in mud at any random time.
 mossy marsh madness......
 and the muddy bog battle.
And just to paint a picture for you.....
it rained the whole time, there was a long run in between the 14 obstacles and our shoes weighed at least  5 40  pounds, and FYI, it took me 3 showers to get all the crud out of my hair.
What did you do this weekend?

~a sonoma dining room~

A follow up to yesterday's post, the lovely Sarah's dining room in Sonoma California.
I love the long and narrow table.
And check out the detail in this yellow cabinet.
FYI~I have that same 3 tierd wire basket for sale at Ruffles and Rust in Snohomish right now.
{on the console below}
I love her use of French antiques.
Makes me want to start collecting.
~ lovely vignettes~
And who would think to put a bee hive on a side table in your dining room?
Not me, but I am now! :)
Have a great weekend friends!
I am off to go do this in the rain~not really looking forward to it, I think trying out for the real Survivor might have been easier.

~3 lucky girls~

~Warning~
LONG post!
So, as you may or may not know, my good friend Jodi and I went to California recently to visit this dear friend {the gorgeous Maria on the right}
On Friday, the day after flying in, we headed to Sonoma for a little antiquing.
We ended up at the most fabulous shop, Chateau Sonoma where we were greeted by the owner and glasses of wine.
We browsed for hours and sat in the sun sipping wine and talking.
Sarah, the lovely owner invited us back to her house for a little gala and we agreed.
Well, we had no idea we were going to be in for such a treat!
It turns out Sarah's house is used for a lot of the Pottery Barn catalog and Internet photo shoots.
You can read about it here.
She was so sweet and let me take lots of photos and even opened up her home to us for the night.
So, here we are, and I'm about to take you on a fabulous tour of the most gorgeous house in Sonoma!
Her farmhouse was built in 1875 and they have renovated it but kept in keeping with the period.
Here is their kitchen complete with soapstone counter tops and Annie Sloan Chalk paint
painted cabinets.
She mixes in antiques everywhere.
They are breathtaking.
I must get myself one of these dish drying racks!
Everything was pretty neutral, but there was pops of color here and there.
To die for if you ask me!
You can tell they really use all the items on the counter on a daily basis.
Now, onto the living room. It sits just to the right of the entry.
The whole home is filled with floor to ceiling windows and plenty of light comes streaming in.
I heart this coffee table.
And, this lamp.

Looking at it from a different angle.
Opposite the living room, just to the left of the entry is Sarah's den.
Jumping to the master bath.
Details, details, details!
I never thought to fold my wash cloths into triangles!
Antique French lighting.
And antique French baskets.
Check out that floor!
I believe this was in a guest bedroom.
The entry.
The upstairs hallway to the bedrooms.
A sitting area in the upstairs hall.
This was in the entry to the master bedroom.
I did take photos but am leaving those out for their privacy.

Looking into the master bedroom.
This grand birdcage was in a guest room decorated in a vintage circus theme.
Same room, a little vignette on the dresser.

This enormous birdcage sat right outside one of the porches.
There is 5 acres of perfectly manicured grounds.
Just to the left is the pool where a lot of the Pottery Barn outdoor shots are taken.

Thanks for coming along on the tour.
I will be back tomorrow to show you the dining room in this home!
See you then!
xoxo
