~on not taking things to seriously~

Remember when I posted about this store?
Well, I can hardly walk away from a store like that and not take an idea or two home with me!

So.......I added a fun little gallery wall above my desk area that is rather whimsical.
Ya know what?
It makes me smile every time I look at it!
{I got a new desk chair too! Love it, and you can find it here}
There really is no rhyme or reason, I just started adding things I love.
A favorite piece of art, silhouettes of our doggies, a hand drawn picture from Cody, etc.
The letter T flashcard is anything but serious, but it was a fun find at Watson Kennedy and it reminds me of our fun weekend we had downtown.
I sorta have a crush on the little boy that made this for me! :)
Letter E stands for nothing, but I like its patina!
I found some old neighborhood papers from the early 1900's and framed the
 "grounds and house rules"
On the other side of the wall is my great custom sign by my friend Tara.
Paper whites are getting ready for the season!
I made this little chair piece by cutting the design out of more of the same old paper.
And, a little more Christmas on the chalkboard door!
Here's to not taking things too seriously!

I love the wall! I would love to do a gallery wall, but can't make up my mind or am afraid once I get it up, I will change my mind. I know that you are always changing things up too. What do you use to attach frames to the wall? Do you end up with holes everywhere? I am afraid to start putting holes in my wall! HELP!!! :)

oh friend...I love your new wall!
I think a touch of whimsy lightens our homes up...so that we aren't too serious for our own good.

I also think you've got an artist on your hands...great job, Cody!

The wall looks great. What a super spot to sit, although I think I would never get anthing accomplished, I would be just staring at the very cool art.

I am in love with your dog silhouettes!! Would it be a terrible thing if I had one of my dog and none of my children?? I have so many photos of them everywhere, and the dog is just totally under-represented in this house.

Your wall is so fun, what a great little desk area!!

Happy Thanksgiving Melaine and family!

That space is great! I love using stuff that have meaning or that I just love for some reason! If it makes you happy it's well done! And this one is very well done. Love your new desk chair too!

It is amazing what you can do with a little ingenuity! Just gathering things and then really focus [not my strong point] can produce some great results!!!

Love everything that you did on your spacious private area. The wall decors are perfect, the lightning is appropriate for your own privacy space.

Thanks for the smile! Ha! "E" is for nothing? I think in your case its for Exuberance (for life). Happy Thanksgiving.

E stands for EVERLASTING, EVERYTHING, EXCITING, EYES of Wonder!
Love it, you inspired me to clean up my act and decorate that corner of mine with a personal touch. So pretty! Hey, I might even work a little harder if mine looked so appealing. Great blog!

LOVE your wall! How clever you are! In addition to "Exuberance", the E can stand for "Etsy"!
