~would you want to hear about this?~

 This is a departure from my normal interior stuff, but something that I am becoming really passionate about, and I'd really like to get your opinion.

I have had a personal trainer for a couple years now, off and on.
I am not big into dieting.
I hibernate in the winter months in my home, baking, and putting on the extra pounds.
Come January, I'm ready to whip things into shape again, and this January was no different.
I started working out January 1st, like many others I am sure.
My goal was to drop 10 pounds before our Hawaii vacation in mid Feb.
I actually lost 17, and honestly, it wasn't that hard.
In the meantime, I started developing these arm muscles which I never knew existed.
{sorry for the bad i phone pic}
I got really excited and posted this picture on instagram.
I got a lot of people interested in my "routine" and thought maybe I'd bring you along on this journey on my blog, because really, if I can do it, you too can do it.

So many people struggle with their weight.
If I can help even in one little way, sharing tips and tricks my trainer gives to me, that would be wonderful.
I am by no means an expert, but anything I can pass along, I would love too.
In 2013, my goal is to not lose weight, but to become the fittest I can be.
And I don't mean body builder fit, just lean with muscle definition.
There's no hardcore dieting, I still eat pizza and cookie dough, and lots of candy.
{I have the worst sweet tooth!}

Anyway, just thought I'd throw this out there.
Leave me a comment below saying yay or nay.
I can handle it, pls. be brutally honest!
xoxo

I like your honesty, about what you eat and your level of commitment because I think that is often what "fools" people.
For me, I do yoga 6-8 times per week (3 different types), some of it is very easy and some of it is super challenging, but I'm the fittest I've ever been. My point being everyone needs to learn what works for them and we can't get there without trying new things. So I say share away, and take away the veil of "it has to be hard and painful and restrictive."

Good for you!

It amazes me that you have such a killer bod and still eat pizza and cookies! I'd begun to think I'd have to "starve" myself to ever lose weight. I'd love to hear any tips or advice that you have.

Amen. I think there are so many unhealthy myths about what it takes to be "fit." A healthy perspective is a breath of fresh air. I am a total foodie (love to cook and eat) and people are always shocked because I am very lean. We need to feed your bodies and build our muscles to keep our metabolism going strong! I think taking care of our physical self is just as important as enhancing our beautiful abodes :-)

I think it depends on how you share it. I'm in great shape now but am always looking for new things that work. If it's about showing off who you are and what you do - I'm not interested. If it's about passing on good information - count me in.

I am also looking to get in shape before I go to Hawaii :) but thankfully I have about 6 months to do so! Although, it would be nice to pull it off before summer.

Hi there
I think two blogs is a good idea. There is plenty of fitness stuff out there and I always enjoyed your original topics... I have to agree w ith previous comments about new pic of you. Although you look fabulous, it seems inappropriate for a blog site for decorating, cooking....I always appreciated your keepin it real style! ;)

I have to agree with the people who have stated that the new photo of you (while attractive)feels a little too intimate for this type of blog. It just feels a tad bit...mmm...suggestive.

Is there a certain routine that you're subscribing to that allows you to target your weight loss to specific areas? When I lose weight, I lose it in my chest as well as other areas making "the girls" less than perky. I'm a pretty full C/small D due to an added 15 lbs, but as soon as I drop it, I'll shrink to a "yes, I've had two kids and nursed them B/A cup". My close friend lost 25 lbs and became a yoga instructor. She dropped from a C to an A and hated it, so she got implants. Would love to know your secret of maintaining your "feminine curves" while dropping 17 lbs.
