~a bench makeover~

Sometimes you just have to buy things for their lines, regardless of the color, fabric, etc.
Case in point, this little stool from Bombay Company via a garage sale for $10.
Loved the legs, but hated the dated fabric. The dark wood wasn't bad, but for me it didn't go with the rest of everything I have.
{look at that rain out the window in June! Sad!}

 I recovered the top with a stark white monogrammed sheet with the letter B, my maiden name.
This has been in the family many years.

 The dark wood got a coat of Annie Sloan paint in Coco with a little clear and dark wax to finish it off!
 Awe, much better! And by the time I was finished, the sun was shining!

Very cute! And thanks for bringing the sun out! We're in for some warm weather now-project time!

love your little bench. The monogram makes it look so crisp. Hate to admit it, but I liked the original fabric a little too.

Wow that's so cute! I have two here just waiting to be fixed up. I bought AS French Linen because everone raved about it and I really dislike the color .. maybe CoCO is a better shade and I should look at that!

I love that style - the lines and the contrast of the dark wood to the white fabric! And rain in June?! Send it to Vegas to cool us down from this miserable heat wave.

so cute!

Do you solely use ASCP now? I'm trying to fig. out the cost benefits of it and was told the sample size wouldn't be enough to even finish a chair. What are your thoughts if you get a chance! Thanks!!!!! : )

Love the final product although I don't think we could ever use white fabrice in our house.

Wow! And I love the sentiment of the monogrammed sheet, too. Beautiful and useful!

My, I certainly can’t believe that you’ve bought this through a garage sale. Anyway, it’s their loss and you gained from it! I really love it coz’ it’s a bit sexy and sophisticate for a chair. Truly one of a kind, don’t you think? If I’m in your shoe, I would definitely grab it as soon as I’ve seen it.
