~a mason jar drink idea & a winner~

Today I have a super simple idea to show you
which would be cute or the upcoming holiday.
It doesn't require a lot of money, or thought, and it will keep the bugs out of your drinks too!

I started with a wide mouth ball jar with lid.
You can buy these by the case at any grocery store.
Then I got out some 7 1/2" round paper doilies.
You can buy these at the dollar store.
Some festive straws~etsy, and you are good to go.

Since my straws are red, I am going to fill mine with blueberry juice from Trader Joes.
If you had blue straws you could serve red fruit punch!
Remove the inner seal and discard or save for a future project.
Place the doily over the top, making sure it is centered.
Then push down on the top ring and screw on until tight.
Using a very sharp small knife, cut a X somewhere on the top for the straw.
 Voila!
I like that they are protected from the elements outside,
if you are having a outdoor gathering

Take it a step further and add a coordinating washi tape name to each straw!

And, speaking of washi tape, the winner of the modes4u.com
giveaway is......

Sandy A!
Congratulations! The friendly folks over at modes4u.com will be contacting you shortly!
xoxo

Having known someone who was stung while drinking from a soda can, this idea is quite appealing for that reason alone!
